Having previously worked with County Durham Housing Group on creating the m!ne rent-to-buy brand, I also led the creative for the brand creation of Believe Housing. Formerly known as County Durham Housing Group, the senior management was looking for something less corporate and more inspirational which would better resonate with all stakeholders. The brand had to align with the organisation’s vision of ‘a life without barriers’ and we all agreed on ‘believe’ as it aligned with their vision for ‘a life without barriers’. The brand is inclusive, fun, professional, vibrant and distinctive in the market – all elements requested in the brief.
The logo is a clean and approachable wordmark that unlike competitors, uses a wide range of colours to give a unique and distinct style in a busy and crowded sector. Clean typography and a soft illustrative led approach lends itself well to all applications which helps remove the barriers for all involved.
This visual style was applied to a wide of applications from vehicles, office signage, uniforms, printed collateral and everything in-between. A hugely successful project it was nominated and won ‘Brand Creation of the Year’ at the 2019 North East Marketing Awards.
