When County Durham Housing Group launched a new ‘rent to buy’ scheme to help prospective homeowners to get on the housing ladder they needed a fresh new brand to stand alone in the marketplace and make people aware of this new opportunity.
I created the name ‘Mine’ along with the brand identity and all creative off and online assets. The visual identity and name both encapsulates the history of Durham with its rich history of mining and mining communities, and also the sense and pride of ownership and affiliation with the owners/tenants’ new sites via phrases such as
‘This is Mine’,
‘This community is Mine’,
‘This garden is Mine’
‘These neighbours are Mine’.
The main colour scheme is bright, fun and appealing, and can be used across all collateral on and offline. Each Rent to Buy site has its own colour, allowing them to stand out and for the tenants/buyers to ‘own’ their site colour but also allowing enough flexibility to easily add in another colour when a new site is added.
